the ‘Studio Excellence Award” for the past several years and was recognized as one of the Top 50 Studios in the country in 2009. She is a nationally recognized dance instructor trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. Her choreography and dancers have been showcased both regionally and nationally, winning top prestigious awards. In her spare time, Heather works locally with her community High School dance teams and has also worked with many collegiate level dance teams, such as the University of Mississippi. Most of her students continue their dance education by being involved with their University Dance Teams nationwide, as well as holding National and State Titles in the pageant circuit. Heather’s love for dance has led her to a successful career in dance instruction. She feels that she can make every child a “star” by giving them the proper training, love, and encouragement necessary to help each student to reach their potential.
 

 
Amanda Pruitt
Tap, Jazz, Lyrical

Amanda is an instructor/choreographer for Dance Specialties in North Carolina, which was named one of the Top 10 Studios in the Southeast Region by the Federation of Dance Competitions in 2010. and choreography have won many top regional and national awards in Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop such as “Judge’s Choice”, “Most Entertaining”, and “Highest Score of the Day”. Several of her students are currently majoring in dance or involved with their University Dance Teams. She is also an Elementary School Teacher in one of the largest School Districts in NC. Amanda shares her passion of teaching through the art of dance and education.
 

 
Lauren Skrabalak
Competition Ballet

Lauren E. Skrabalak began early dance training at Ballet Arts Theatre in her hometown of Endicott, NY. While growing up, her training took her to pursue summer intensives at the School of American Ballet, New York State Summer School of the Arts, Texas Christian University, as well as the Ballet West Conservatory. While on scholarship at the University of Utah, Skrabalak graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in

Lauren Skrabalak
Ballet (Performing and Teaching Emphases). She had the opportunity to dance with Utah Ballet and work as a guest artist with Ballet West. She has also traveled abroad to Taipei, Taiwan performing a soloist role in Concerto Barocco. Her professional experience includes dancing at the Medals Plaza in the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics as well as working for Bodiography Contemporary Ballet in Pittsburgh. For seven years, Skrabalak danced principal roles for the company and was promoted to Rehearsal Director as well as the Assistant Director to the school. She has extended her mentoring talents to Point Park University, Carnegie Mellon University, and is a certified Pilates instructor. Skrabalak is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Dance and is thrilled to be part of the faculty.
 

 
Ashley Locklear
Jazz, Lyrical

Former member of the Dance Specialties competition team. Ashley graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte, NC. Earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. Ashley continues her love of dance by teaching and assisting recreational and competition classes at Dance Specialties. Ashley routines have won many awards both

Robyn Fisher
Gymnastics

Robyn is currently a student at UNC Charlotte pursing a Communications Major. She is a cheerleader for the Charlotte 49ers. In 2007 she was announced as a National Cheerleading Association Collegiate All-American. Robyn also cheered competitively for the Wake Forest All Stars.
